Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman...

Celebrating 97 Years of Womanhood

Alright, so technically you haven't quite reached that age where people are calling you "ma'am" or "miss"...you may not have even reached an age of double digits. But, that doesn't mean that one day you too won't have an opportunity to proclaim "I'm a woman and proud of it!". Why not start celebrating today?!

Every year, for the past 97 years, International Women's Day has recognized and appreciated women for their talents, diversity, and triumphs.

Women (and girls!) ban together globally in celebration of their own accomplishments and those of their predecessors. They form networks and support alliances so that this one-day fusion of energy and insight will translate into a year’s worth of women and girls working collectively for positive changes – from Austria to Angola, from Canada to Cambodia, from Israel to Iran!

International Women’s Day takes place annually on March 8th, although festivities run before and after this official date. In 2008, how will you celebrate?

To learn more about events in your community and elsewhere, visit the International Women’s Day website at www.internationalwomensday.com.

Now get out there girls and have some fun with your fellow fierce females!
